The most beautiful synagogue in Berlin. We took this picture in summer last year. Unfortunately it is a Reform Shul with a woman as a Rabbi.
I often asked myself why Hashem put me in this place of no Kedusha and no light? Why could I not be born in Israel surrounded by Jewish people that think and feel like me. Why do I have to be in Berlin; in Germany in a area where so many Neshamot suffered?
I still do not know the answer, but one thing is for sure as long as we have Emuna and faith and never forget who we are and from where we are coming from his hand will protect us not getting mixed and lost in this world.
I often get the feeling that this world is upside down. All the Mizvoth that Hashem gave us sound funny to the non Jews. Goyim can not even understand how I do not drive on Shabbat. They turn there eyes when I sit and make a Bracha after the bathroom. When that happens I often ask myself: " Ok, maybe that is weired". G-d forbid we get so brainwashed from this Galuth- Society that we do not even know what is right or wrong. It is confusing.
I guess you have to know the truth. And the truth is and always will be the Torah, from know to eternity. Thats what we have to stick to.
I just hope Hashem did not forget me here in Berlin...
P.S I am sorry if this post does not have a real meaning or point but I just had the feeling of saying this words. And I am also sorry if you have the impression that Berlin is the worst place in the world. IT IS NOT. It is actually pretty nice. The community is growing. Besrat Hashem I will try to write something about the community in Berlin and also about some people from the community.
Stay Strong and Shabbat Shalom

Nice blog. I also live in Berlin and am frum, but never even thought about what non-jews think about me. We are all different and that's the beauty of the world created by Hashem, you know what I mean?
Which community do you belong to? I'd love to see and invite you for Shabbat. I live in the Lauder community of the East Berlin. E-mail me (you can find my e-mail on my blog) if you'd like to attend some shiurim at my seminary or just meet young frum people of your age.
hi
the shul in oranienburgerstrasse is not reform - its masorti. that is a difference.
there is no interdiction at all by the torah that women are not allowed to become rabbis , learn talmud and etc . . that is a socially practice which one needs to overcome.
ever heart of the the shul shirah hadasha ?
